Patna, March 21 (IANS). The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with great enthusiasm and mutual brotherhood in Bihar. Thousands of people gathered at Gandhi Maidan and offered namaz and greeted each other on Eid. Bihar government minister Ashok Chaudhary and JDU leader Nishant Kumar were also present on this occasion.
Minister Ashok Choudhary said on the occasion of Eid, “Just like we celebrate festivals like Holi and Diwali, we celebrate Eid and Bakrid in the same way. We should deeply respect our religion as well as people of other religions.” He described this festival as a symbol of mutual harmony and unity.
During this, Ashok Chaudhary also praised the working style of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He said, he has led Bihar for 20 years with dedication. The result of this is that peace and law and order have been maintained in the state.” Sharing an anecdote, he said that once when he had gone to an event in Ludhiana, Punjab with the Chief Minister, people in the Gurudwara there showed deep respect for Nitish Kumar and kissed his hands.
At the same time, Nishant Kumar, on behalf of himself and his father, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, congratulated the countrymen and people of Bihar on Eid. He said, “On behalf of my father, I also wish everyone a very happy Eid.”
In the pictures that emerged from Gandhi Maidan, a large number of people were seen arriving for Namaz. An atmosphere of happiness, enthusiasm and brotherhood was seen everywhere.
A student also expressed his happiness on this special occasion and said, “I wish Eid to all the people of the country. This is a day to spread brotherhood, love and harmony. I offered namaz here and now I am celebrating a little happiness with my friends in the hostel.”
Dr. Mashhood Alam Nadvi, principal of Madrasa Shamsul Hoda, said, “Eid is the most important festival of Muslims, which is celebrated after the holy month of Ramadan.”
