Bhopal, May 20 (IANS). Twinsha Sharma’s family met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday and demanded a thorough investigation into her alleged suicide.
During the meeting held at the state secretariat in Bhopal, the family demanded an impartial investigation and expressed concern over the circumstances surrounding the death of 24-year-old Twisha at her in-laws’ house earlier this month.
Chief Minister Yadav assured the family that the state government will provide full cooperation in this matter.
He also said that the Madhya Pradesh government will write a letter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) requesting it to investigate the matter.
The Chief Minister assured the family that transportation arrangements would be made to take Twisha Sharma’s mortal remains to Delhi.
Twisha’s parents live in Gaur City-2 township of Greater Noida.
Twisha Sharma was found dead in her in-laws’ house in Bhopal on the night of 12 May.
According to the police, he was reportedly found hanging from the rope of a gymnastics ring on the terrace of the house at around 10:26 pm on May 12.
His post-mortem was conducted on May 13 at the Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Department of AIIMS Bhopal.
The post mortem report stated the cause of death to be hanging by rope before death.
Doctors observed double red rope marks running at an angle around the upper third of the neck, consistent with hanging.
The report also mentioned several simple injuries on various parts of the body.
These included scratches on the left side of the neck, bruises on the left upper arm, left wrist, right wrist and right ring finger, as well as a bruise on the left forearm area below the skull.
Doctors also observed symptoms associated with asphyxiation, including pooling of blood on the face, blue ears and fingernails, and microhemorrhages in the right eye.
During internal examination, two small injury marks were found below the rope mark.
According to police, Tardieu’s spots appeared in the lungs, which are usually associated with asphyxiation, while blood accumulation was also seen in the lining of the brain, lungs and stomach.
