Mumbai, February 20 (IANS). Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday strongly condemned the shirtless protest by a group of the Indian Youth Congress against the central government and the India-US trade deal. He described this demonstration as extremely shameful and condemnable.

Chief Minister Fadnavis further said, “We strongly condemn such incidents and demand strict action against the culprits, as this is a serious attempt to harm the name and honor of India.”
State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule claimed that this was a deliberate attempt by Congress and Rahul Gandhi to create chaos at the AI Summit and malign India’s image, which is highly condemnable and shameful and harms India’s reputation.
“This is not just a political demonstration but a direct insult to the honor of our country. This entire incident has exposed the irresponsible and directionless leadership of the Congress and Rahul Gandhi,” he said.
Minister Bawankule said that while leaders and technocrats around the world are praising India, the Congress has allegedly tried to tarnish the image of the country, which critics are saying is against the national interest.
Maharashtra BJP President Ravindra Chavan attacked Congress and said that because of Rahul Gandhi, Congress has now become AI (Anti India).
He also said that the conspiracy by the Congress to create chaos and hinder the building of a developed India will never succeed, as the country is continuously progressing.
Mumbai BJP President Tejinder Singh Tiwana said that this step taken by Congress workers on the international platform is highly condemnable.
He said, “Congress is not able to tolerate India’s progress, hence it has shown its anti-national mentality through such actions. The behavior of the Congress party is uncivilized and highly condemnable.”
He also said that insulting the Prime Minister and creating controversy at the international level is not only against the values of democracy but is also harmful for the progress of the country and the future of the youth.
He further said that the Congress party should immediately apologize and take strict action against the culprits.
