Kolkata, June 3 (IANS). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday claimed that Trinamool Congress supremo and former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is going to face more political blows for all the wrongdoings done by her and her party members during the 15-year-old Trinamool Congress government she led in the state from 2011 to 2026.
BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya made the comments amid the ongoing disunity within the Trinamool Congress, which became even more evident this morning with the formation of a new faction in the party’s legislature party in the West Bengal Assembly. This faction includes 58 out of 80 MLAs of the party, which is led by expelled Trinamool Congress MLA Ritabrata Banerjee.
Malviya posted on the social media platform ‘X’ and claimed that Mamata Banerjee was dreaming of becoming the Prime Minister of the country by speaking words to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but in reality, her party has not only been rejected by the people of West Bengal in the recently concluded assembly elections, but the MLAs of her own party have also started declaring rebellion against her.
Subsequently, Malviya concluded the social media statement by predicting more adversity for Mamata Banerjee in the days to come.
Malviya said in the statement, “And this is just the beginning. Mamata Banerjee will have to account for the blood on her hands.”
Soon after the announcement of the formation of a new faction in the legislative team of Trinamool Congress in the West Bengal Assembly on Wednesday, the original faction of the party announced the dissolution of all internal committees, maintaining its loyalty to Mamata Banerjee and her nephew and party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
The decision to dissolve all internal committees of the party in West Bengal as well as panels of the party’s affiliate organizations was announced in a statement issued on the official social media accounts of the All India Trinamool Congress.
