Manmohan Singh's leadership strengthened economy and democracy: Congress

Congress on Friday paid tribute to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his death anniversary and said that his leadership strengthened India’s economy and democracy.

Singh was born on 26 September 1932 in Gah village of Punjab which is now part of Pakistan. Singh was Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014. He died on 26 December 2024.

Congress said in a post on ,X,, ,Dr. On the death anniversary of Manmohan Singh, we remember a politician of integrity, humility and vision. His leadership strengthened India,s economy and democracy. ,

The main opposition party said that Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister who served the country with selflessness and determination.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said in her post on ‘X’, “Respectful tribute to former Prime Minister of India, former Finance Minister and Reserve Bank of India Governor Dr. Manmohan Singh on his death anniversary. Dr. Manmohan Singh was an example of a determined, courageous and dignified personality who believed in equality. He was truly dedicated to the progress of the country.

Priyanka Gandhi said, ‘His simplicity, honesty and dedication towards the country will always inspire us all.’
