Patna, June 14 (IANS). Bihar Government Minister Shravan Kumar expressed happiness over getting GI tag for fifty-two Buti art sarees and also congratulated the people of Nalanda area. Along with this, regarding the uproar by Bihar Police exam candidates at Patliputra railway station, Bihar government minister Shravan Kumar held anti-social elements responsible for the vandalism, while JDU accused the opposition of instigating the students.

Talking to IANS, Bihar government minister Shravan Kumar said that nowadays Bihar is getting fame in every field. If we talk about Nalanda, it has a very old history. Not only in the field of knowledge, but weavers in rural areas have been manufacturing fifty-two booti art sarees with their skills through handloom for a long time. He said that all this was happening since the time when modern technology had not come in the country.

Minister Shravan Kumar told that recently when Madam President had come, he had gifted her the same saree. He said that it was auspicious to present this saree to Madam President, because it has got the GI tag. Now the demand for this saree will increase even at the international level and people will get employment. This will help in reducing the employment problem. He also wished the weaver brothers.

At the same time, regarding the uproar by students at Patliputra station, he said that students do not indulge in vandalism, but only anti-social elements are involved in such matters. The government will investigate this matter and strict action will be taken against the culprits. He said that students should get resources and facilities, on which the government will work. Also, students should openly present their problems before the government.

Meanwhile, JDU’s national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad said, “I think students should not fall victim to the opposition’s provocations. They should exercise restraint. They are the future of India and they should remain calm and disciplined. In recent times, instead of focusing on studies and exam preparation, students are repeatedly getting involved in such activities. This is not good for their future.”

Purnia MP Pappu Yadav said that the hopes of the students are vanishing. The train belongs to the public and runs with public money, hence it should not be vandalized. But when people are angry, they express their anger somewhere or the other. The government should think what their problem is. He said that children, youth, farmers, women and common people are not feeling safe in this country.

Let us tell you that a huge crowd of Bihar Police exam candidates turned violent at Patliputra railway station over inadequate train services. The vandalism, stone pelting and damage to property continued for hours, in which many people were injured. Police have deployed additional forces and are investigating the matter on the basis of CCTV footage.
