Kolkata, March 6 (IANS). West Bengal Governor Dr. CV Anand Bose has resigned from his post on Friday. His resignation letter was shared on ‘X’, the official social media handle of Governor Bhavan (Lok Bhavan), in which he talked about the end of his innings in Bengal and expressed his desire to go for a new mission in Kerala.
This resignation has come just before the state assembly elections 2026, which has intensified the political stir.
Anand Bose said, “My innings in West Bengal is coming to an end. I am very grateful to the great people of Bengal for the love and respect they have given me. I am going to Kerala to work for a developed India.”
He further wrote, “I will work under the guidance of the national leadership to achieve the goals of this great mission and do my best to further the cause of our beloved Keralam, my home state.”
He expressed gratitude to President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and said that this new mission is a sacred duty for him. Bose extended his best wishes to his successor, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, and wrote, “I also extend my best wishes to my very dear friend and well-known public administrator RN Ravi, who will be my illustrious successor. Tomorrow to fresh forests and pastures tomorrow. Vande Mataram.”
CV Anand Bose, a 1977 batch IAS officer (Kerala cadre), took over as the Governor of West Bengal in November 2022. There were many disputes with the Mamata Banerjee government during his tenure. The resignation has been sent to Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi and accepted.
Let us tell you that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had expressed surprise at the resignation. He posted on ‘X’ that the reasons for resignation are not known, but the possibility of political pressure by the Home Minister before the elections cannot be ruled out. He said the Center informed him that RN Ravi would be the new governor, but he was not consulted.
