Nagpur, June 22 (IANS). The counting of votes for Maharashtra Legislative Council by-election from Nagpur Local Swarajya Sanstha constituency has started at 8 am on Monday. In this election, there is a direct contest between Dr. Rajiv Potdar of BJP and Atul Londhe of Congress.
According to the information, four special teams have been formed for counting of votes. Each team includes counting observers, counting assistants and micro observers. The counting of votes is being done on four tables, including one table specifically set aside for tabulation. The administration has kept the security arrangements at the counting center tight so that the process can be conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner.
However, looking at the current numbers, the victory of BJP candidate Dr. Rajeev Potdar is considered almost certain. The administration has completed all preparations for the counting of votes and extensive security arrangements have been made.
It is noteworthy that voting for Nagpur Local Self-Government Constituency was concluded on Thursday, in which a record voter turnout of 98.44 percent was recorded.
