Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Sunday said the National Education Policy 2020 is a transformational reform, which will play an important role in achieving the goal of ‘Developed Odisha’ by 2036 and ‘Developed India’ by 2047. He said that education is the most powerful means of nation building.
Addressing a national level workshop on the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and higher education reforms held in Bhubaneswar, the Governor said that the policy provides a roadmap to harness India’s demographic dividend and build a strong, inclusive and future-ready education system that can promote economic growth, social progress and global leadership.
Describing this workshop as a visionary initiative, the Governor said that it reflects the collective commitment to strengthen education as the foundation of national progress and human development. He said India has historically been a global center of knowledge, intellect and intellectual leadership, with significant contributions in mathematics, astronomy, medicine and literature.

Emphasizing on skill development, entrepreneurship and employability, the Governor said that the aim of education should be to make the youth not just job seekers but employment creators. He stressed the need for collective efforts of the government, academia, industry and society for effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.
He appealed to the universities to adopt the surrounding villages and contribute to the effective implementation of the welfare schemes of the Central and State Government.
