NCP-SP’s Fahadh Ahmed criticizes Udhayanidhi Stalin for anti-Sanatan remarks

एनसीपी-एसपी के फहद अहमद ने सनातन विरोधी टिप्पणी के लिए उदयनिधि स्टालिन की आलोचना की

Mumbai, May 12 (IANS). NCP (SP) leader Fahadh Ahmed on Tuesday criticized Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly Udhayanidhi Stalin over his ‘anti-Sanatan’ statement and termed it as ‘childish and inappropriate’.

In fact, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu created a new controversy when he talked about abolishing Sanatana Dharma in the presence of the newly elected Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.

Speaking to IANS, Ahmed said, “This is a very childish statement. Making such comments about any religion, I think, is completely wrong and immature on the part of Udhayanidhi Stalin.” He also called this statement ‘shameful’.

The NCP-SP leader congratulated Congress for breaking its alliance with DMK.

Congress broke away from the DMK-led alliance and supported Vijay-led TVK, so that TVK could touch the majority mark in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.

Ahmed stressed that the Congress is an ally of the NCP-SP in the ‘India’ block, and because of such statements by the DMK, the Congress too had to face ‘uncomfortable situations’.

He said, “Our Constitution gives freedom to every religion to follow its customs, and besides, most of the population of the country follows Hinduism.”

He said that if someone wants to be a ‘social reformer’ and feels that there are problems in Hinduism, then he should work through ‘social reform’ only.

Similarly, Ahmed said that if someone feels that there are problems in the Muslim religion, then the path of ‘social reform’ can be adopted there too.

He stressed, “No religion can be criticized like this again and again.”

The NCP-SP leader again reiterated that Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement was ‘extremely childish’ and such comments should be avoided.

He further said, “The people of Tamil Nadu are very educated; they too would not expect such comments from their Leader of the Opposition.”

Reacting to the issue, BJP leader Nazia Ilahi Khan said, “The people of Tamil Nadu have given an answer (to the DMK) by giving their mandate to Vijay. If they (DMK) still don’t understand this, I think they will understand this only after it is completely destroyed.”

He further said that political fighting, political malice and even political revenge are okay, but ‘fighting with Lord Ram is not okay. Both Lord Ram and his devotees will not accept this. You fight with the political party, don’t fight with Sanatan.”
