Amid the NEET paper leak controversy, ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ chief Abhijit Deepke has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi making an important demand regarding the recent incidents of suicide. In the letter, Deepke has urged the Prime Minister to give compensation of ₹1 crore to the families of students who committed suicide. Also, alleging failure in the education system, Deepke has demanded the resignation or removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

What did Deepke write?

Cockroach Janata Party chief Abhijeet Deepke wrote in his letter, “I am writing this letter to you today with a heavy heart to draw your attention to a serious crisis that is threatening the future of our country and putting the lives and mental health of our young students at risk.”

Deepke has claimed in his letter that 11 NEET candidates have committed suicide in the last one week. The most worrying thing is that five of these heartbreaking incidents have happened in the last 48 hours. Deepke has alleged that due to frequent controversies related to the examination, students have lost their confidence and many students are facing immense mental pressure.

Affected families facing financial crisis

Deepke wrote, “Over the past two months, I have personally met many bereaved families whose children have committed suicide. Apart from the unbearable emotional shock of losing a child, these families are now facing severe and rapidly worsening financial hardships.

In search of a better future, many families had taken out huge education loans to fulfill their children’s dreams – dreams that were brutally shattered due to systemic failures. These families have become completely destitute after losing the children on whose education they had invested their life savings. The government should come forward to provide immediate relief. We demand that your administration should give a compensation of ₹1 crore to the family of each student who committed suicide due to the growing crisis of examination paper leak.”

Demand for resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan

Abhijit Deepke reiterated his party’s demand for government accountability and demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He wrote, “For the past one month, the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ has been demanding the resignation of the Education Minister and has been holding protests across the country with these demands. Our only demand as students is that responsibility be fixed for the loss of life and property.” Abhijit Deepke further said, “Repeated systemic failure, mismanagement and excessive concern over these examinations point towards the collapse of our education system. Therefore, we humbly request you to remove the Education Minister. He works as per your wish and the final decision rests with the Prime Minister.”
