Shamli, April 14 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor on Tuesday. Earlier, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inspected the first ‘rest-hold area’ on the Delhi-Dehradun route. He was welcomed by officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) during the visit.

Anil Pundhir of Shamli told IANS that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari visited the ‘rest-hold area’. He stayed here for some time and talked to people. Regarding the economic corridor, he said that it will provide employment to more people. Time will also be saved between Delhi and Dehradun.

There is tremendous enthusiasm among the local people about the inauguration of this economic corridor and they praised the government. Speaking to IANS, a person said, “This will greatly benefit our region. It is a matter of happiness that now we will be able to reach Dehradun from Delhi in just a few hours.”

He said that this economic corridor will make travel between Delhi and Dehradun easier. Nearby towns and rural areas will also benefit from it. Everyone is happy about the inauguration of this economic corridor.

Satish Chauhan said that through this route, both Delhi and Dehradun are no longer far away for the local people. They will travel very easily and reach their destination. He said that recently Union Minister Nitin Gadkari met the people present near the ‘rest-hold area’. We all felt very happy meeting him.

Let us tell you that Prime Minister Modi will review the wildlife corridor built on the elevated section of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh at around 11.15 am. The Prime Minister will visit and worship at Jai Maa Daat Kali Temple located near Dehradun at around 11:40 am.

After this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor at a public function in Dehradun at around 12:30 pm and will also address the gathering present on the occasion. The economic corridor will reduce the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from 6 hours to about 2.5 hours.
