Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday hit out at Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif’s recent comments related to the Kolkata attack, insisting that he should not make “such inflammatory statements” as he had to face the consequences of Pakistan’s split into two.
Speaking to ANI, Singh further said that only God knows into how many parts Pakistan would be divided if “his eyes fell on Bengal”.
Rajnath Singh said, “Pakistan’s Defense Minister should not have made such a provocative statement. 55 years ago, when Pakistan was divided into two parts, he had to suffer the consequences. If he tries to look at Bengal, then who knows into how many parts Pakistan will be divided this time.”
On Saturday, Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif reportedly said that in case of any future misadventure by India, Islamabad will retaliate by attacking Kolkata.
After this incident TMC also criticized the government. Party MP Abhishek Banerjee on Monday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing them of lacking the courage to condemn the alleged open threat of attack on Kolkata by Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif.
Addressing a public meeting here, Banerjee said, “The self-styled Prime Minister of ’56 inches’ and his Home Minister are so busy campaigning for votes that they do not have time to respond to direct threats of external aggression against Bengal.”
Pakistan’s Defense Minister has openly threatened to attack Kolkata, yet neither Narendra Modi nor Amit Shah could muster the courage to condemn this grave attack on a state of the Indian Union and on the sovereignty of India.
He further said, “Either the lives of the people of Bengal do not matter to them, or they are so cowardly and timid that they cannot take a stand. If they have even the slightest courage, they should give free rein to the central forces, the BSF and the Indian Army to take back Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Will Narendra Modi dare? Will Amit Shah dare? Will Rajnath Singh dare?”
