Noida, 30 December (IANS). Before the New Year celebrations, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police has come in full alert mode. The police administration has made elaborate security arrangements to maintain law and order in the district and prevent any untoward incident. In particular, a warning has been given of strict action against those who drink and drive.
The police have said in clear words that no one’s carelessness will be allowed to cost the lives of others during the New Year celebrations. More than 2 thousand policemen will be deployed in Gautam Buddha Nagar on New Year’s Eve. There will be strict police surveillance at major markets, malls, clubs and party venues.
Joint CP Rajiv Narayan Mishra held a meeting with the managers of major restaurants and bars of the district in this regard. During the meeting, he gave clear instructions that overcrowding should not be allowed under any circumstances. Action will be taken against the concerned management for allowing entry of more people than the capacity.
Joint CP told the restaurant and bar operators that if any kind of law and order situation arises, they should immediately inform the police, so that the situation can be brought under control in time. Apart from this, policemen in civil dress will also be deployed inside the restaurants and bars, so that any suspicious activity can be monitored.
Heavy police force will be deployed in major places of the city like Garden Galleria, GIP Mall, Sector-18, Sector-98 Skymark Building and Sector-104 Hajipur area. Along with barricading, checking campaign will also be conducted in these areas. Special vigil will be kept on those driving after drinking alcohol and they will be tested with breath analyzer. Strict action will also be taken against taxi drivers and vehicle owners who park vehicles illegally on the roads, so that the traffic system is not disrupted.
Along with this, fire brigade teams will also be deployed to deal with any emergency. In terms of security, Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squad, Anti Sabotage Unit, PAC, Commando and local police will be ready at sensitive and crowded spots of the city. The police administration has also appealed to the general public to celebrate the New Year responsibly and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police, so that the New Year can be celebrated in a safe and peaceful environment.
