Bhopal, April 4 (IANS). National Students Union of India (NSUI) workers on Saturday protested by putting up posters outside the office of Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla and the office of the Directorate of Health Services (Ayushman) and the Chief Medical and Health Officer in Bhopal.
A poster put up outside the residence-cum-office of Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla tried to highlight alleged irregularities in the health system through a sarcastic message.
NSUI workers say that if strict action is not taken in time, the public health system may be at risk. He also alleged patronage to illegal and fake hospitals in the city.
However, the posters put up outside Shukla’s residence were later removed by security personnel.
NSUI state vice president Ravi Parmar alleged that many hospitals in the city are violating the rules and registering the names of doctors and staff fraudulently on the papers. He said that despite several complaints and protests, no concrete action was taken by CMHO Dr. Manish Sharma.
“This inaction indicates that a large syndicate of fake hospitals is active in the capital,” Parmar said.
He also alleged that such hospitals are financially exploiting the patients who come from rural areas and small towns in the hope of treatment.
NSUI has warned that if action is not taken soon, a big demonstration will be held outside the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla in the coming days.
While reacting to these allegations, CMHO Dr. Manish Sharma called them baseless and politically motivated. “Regular investigations are being conducted and action against fake hospitals is underway. Complaints have also been filed in the court in many cases,” he said.
