New Delhi, February 5 (IANS). Congress MP Naseer Hussain has taken a dig at Speaker Om Birla’s statement in the Lok Sabha, in which he said that an unexpected incident could have happened with PM Modi in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, hence his speech scheduled at 5 pm had to be postponed. Due to apprehension, I had requested him not to come.
The Congress MP said that the government had received such intelligence reports. If such reporting had happened earlier also, perhaps incidents like the bomb blast outside the Red Fort and Pahalgam would not have happened.
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Congress MP Naseer Hussain said that patting oneself on the back is his established style. Everyone knows the direction the economy is going. The rupee is continuously falling. I don’t know how much the rupee will fall beyond this. Tariff deal is being done under pressure from Trump. We cannot buy oil from Russia and Iran because America does not want to. Instead of buying oil at a lower price, we now have to buy it at a higher price. This is the condition of our economy.
He said that the government claims that we have become the fourth largest economy in the world. It is obvious that the economy of a country whose population is more than 140 crores will definitely grow, but the government is not able to give the figures of how many people got employment in the growing economy.
The Congress MP said that they brought 25 crore people out of the poverty line, but even today crores of people have to be given free ration. Industrial production, agricultural production and exports are falling and imports are continuously increasing. The benefits of such a big economy are not reaching the poor farmers, yet they are patting themselves on the back. Blaming the opposition has been his old style.
He said that the opposition will keep asking questions, that is why the Leader of Opposition is not allowed to speak in our Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.
