People’s Democratic Party MLA Waheed Para has said that his party’s MLAs will vote in favor of the ruling National Conference candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections being held on Friday in the “larger interest” of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters at the Assembly complex, Para said, “The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has also decided to support the National Conference (NC) as the ruling party has committed to support its two bills related to land regularization and regularization of daily wage labourers.”
“We have brought two bills which are expected to be introduced in the House,” Parra said. We have decided to support the National Conference for these two commitments and in the larger interest of Jammu and Kashmir, as we feel it would be better to support the NC which is contesting the BJP in these elections.
The MLA from Pulwama said party president Mehbooba Mufti has decided to vote for the NC because “she has promised to support the Land Acquisition Bill and the Daily Wages Bill brought by the PDP.”
“Keeping this in mind, we have decided that PDP votes will go in favor of NC,” Para said.
