PM Modi mentioned in 'Mann Ki Baat', Moirangthem Seth of Manipur said - this will boost our morale.

Imphal, 28 December (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program on Sunday, talked about the efforts of Moirangthem Seth, a young entrepreneur from Manipur, who has helped in providing solar power to hundreds of homes in the state.

Referring to Seth’s work, the Prime Minister said the initiative showed how local solutions can solve long-standing challenges like power shortage in remote areas. PM Modi said, “There is an old saying, where there is a will, there is a way. A youth from Manipur has shown this through his work.”

The PM said parts of Manipur face chronic power shortages, and Seth identified solar energy as a good option given the region’s good conditions for renewable power generation. According to the Prime Minister, this initiative has helped in providing electricity to hundreds of houses by installing solar panels.

After the program ‘Mann Ki Baat’, young Moirangthem Seth has answered all the questions in an interview.

Question: In ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned those who bring grassroots changes like you. Does this show that his government is bringing real development stories straight from the ground to the country?

Answer: Yes, absolutely. This is a very good sign in itself. The mention of our work by the Prime Minister shows that we are moving in the right direction for the development of the country.

Question: The Prime Minister praised your solar energy model in Manipur. How did you find it?

Answer: I am very happy and thankful. This shows that even a simple idea can have a big impact on people’s lives. Recognition by the Prime Minister gives hope that small efforts can reach millions of people and bring good change.

Question: Does your solar energy initiative strengthen the vision of schemes like PM Surya Ghar Yojana so that clean energy can reach every household?

Answer: Yes, while our solution is off-grid and focuses on remote areas and healthcare centers that do not have access to proper electricity, PM Surya Ghar primarily targets rural households with existing grid connections. Both approaches complement each other and work towards the same vision, electricity for every home and community.

Question: What impact is PM Surya Ghar Yojana having on the lives of common people, what changes have you seen?

Answer: Both our initiative and PM Surya Ghar are helping the community. People in remote areas are benefiting from our off-grid solution, while village homes are benefiting from PM Surya Ghar. Together, these efforts are improving access to electricity and increasing livelihoods.

Question: When the Prime Minister mentions it in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, do you think it inspires the youth for innovation, self-reliance and the vision of ‘Developed India’?

Answer: Absolutely. To be recognized and mentioned by the Prime Minister is encouraging. It shows that with a humble approach and a focus on the well-being of the community, even simple ideas can reach thousands of people and inspire youth across the country.

Question: Based on your experience, how effective are Prime Minister Modi’s schemes on the ground, and how beneficial are they for the common citizens?

Answer: The impact depends on how well the solution is implemented at the local level. From my observation, initiatives like PM Surya Ghar are working well in many parts of the country, including Manipur. People are getting clear benefits, and these programs are gradually improving access to electricity and services.
