Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed the successful launch of LVM3-M6, which placed the Blue Bird Block-2 satellite into its intended orbit. He described it as an important step in India’s space journey.
Congratulating ISRO scientists and engineers, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the country’s progress towards “self-reliant India” and its continued advancement in the space world.
In a post on Twitter, PM Modi wrote, “An important achievement in India’s space sector. The successful launch of LVM3-M6, which placed the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil, America’s spacecraft Blue Bird Block-2, into its intended orbit, is a proud milestone in India’s space journey.”
He described it as an important achievement for India’s space sector and said that under this mission, the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil has been placed in orbit.
“It strengthens India’s heavy-lift launch capability and reinforces our growing role in the global commercial launch market. It also symbolizes our efforts towards a self-reliant India,” he said.
The post further read, “Congratulations to our hardworking space scientists and engineers. India is continuously scaling new heights in the world of space!”
The Prime Minister highlighted the reliable performance of the LVM3 rocket, which is laying the foundation for future missions like Gaganyaan, expanding commercial launches and strengthening global partnerships.
He also noted that these improvements in capacity and self-reliance will benefit future generations.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) this morning successfully launched America’s AST Spacemobile’s Blue Bird Block-2 communications satellite. The satellite was successfully placed in orbit and the mission was declared successful.
The launch took place at 8:55 am Indian time from the Satish Dhawan Space Station in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
The mission will deploy a next-generation communications satellite designed to provide high-speed cellular broadband directly to smartphones around the world.
