New Delhi, October 21 (IANS). The festival of Diwali was celebrated with full enthusiasm across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter to the countrymen on Diwali.
Let us tell you that the festival of Diwali was celebrated with full enthusiasm across the country on 20th October. There was a buzz in the markets and the positive effect of the GST reforms implemented in recent days was seen, which gave relief to the consumers in shopping. Besides, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swadeshi appeal also had an impact on the people, due to which purchasing of Swadeshi products was given priority. People made the festival more special by enthusiastically adopting local and indigenous goods.
Referring to self-reliant India, PM Modi wrote that in this journey of developed and self-reliant India, our main responsibility as a citizen is to fulfill our duty towards the country. We should adopt Swadeshi and proudly say that it is Swadeshi. Let us increase the feeling of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat. We should respect every language. We should follow cleanliness. Let us give priority to our health. Reduce the amount of oil in food by 10 percent and adopt yoga. All these efforts will take us towards a more developed India at a faster pace.
Referring to the festival of Diwali, PM Modi said that this festival also teaches us that when one lamp lights another lamp, its light does not diminish but increases. In the same spirit, this Diwali we too have to light the lamps of harmony, cooperation and positivity in our society and around us.
Referring to Ayodhya Ram temple, PM Modi wrote that this is the second Diwali after the grand construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Lord Shri Ram teaches us to follow dignity and also teaches us to fight injustice. We also saw a live example of this during Operation Sindoor a few months ago. In Operation Sindoor, India followed all decorum and also took revenge for injustice. This time’s Diwali is also special because Diwali lamps will be lit for the first time in many districts and far-flung areas of the country. These are the districts where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been completely eradicated. In the past, we have seen how many people have left the path of violence and joined the mainstream of development and have expressed faith in the Constitution of the country. This is a big achievement for the country.
