PM Modi’s Odisha tour: Will attend a big program in Mayurbhanj, will also visit President Murmu’s in-laws

New Delhi, June 20 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of Odisha on Saturday. PM Modi will attend a big event in Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district. This program is being organized to commemorate the completion of two years of the BJP government in the state. President Draupadi Murmu will also be present in this program.

PM Modi along with President Draupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Paharpur village, the President’s home in Mayurbhanj district, at around 11:15 am. The PM and the President will offer prayers at the sacred groves Santhali Jahera and Ho Jahera, Skill Center and Paharpur School.

The visit is in view of the ongoing efforts to strengthen educational opportunities, skill development and socio-economic empowerment in tribal and rural areas.

At around 1 pm, the President and the Prime Minister will attend an event at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district to mark the completion of two years of the Odisha government. The theme of the program is “Vikas Ra Dhara, Odisha Sara”.

According to official sources, various developmental projects worth over Rs 47,600 crore will be inaugurated and foundation stones laid during the event in key sectors including energy, industrial infrastructure, road connectivity, drinking water, health, education, tourism and irrigation.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister will also address a huge public meeting in Rairangpur on Saturday. The projects are expected to strengthen infrastructure, improve connectivity, enhance energy security and create employment opportunities across Odisha.

Major projects for which the foundation stone will be laid during this period include 600 MW Upper Indravati Pumped Storage Project and Stage-II Expansion Project of IB Thermal Power Station consisting of two units of 660 MW each.

Other projects for which the foundation stone will be laid include a 300 TPD source-separated municipal solid waste-based compressed biogas plant, a bridge over the Katakjodi river providing a direct link between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, widening and strengthening of Dhalpur-Harbhanga Road in Boudh district, four-laning of a stretch of NH-353 from Nuapada to Ghatipara, Kusumdihi Megalift Irrigation Project, IGNOU The regional center and Rairangpur include indoor badminton complexes.

Along with this, 24 Atal bus stands and nine automated testing stations in various districts of Odisha as well as a 300-bed District Headquarters Hospital building at Boudh will be inaugurated. These projects are expected to strengthen healthcare and public transport infrastructure in the state.
