New Delhi, June 14 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a tour of France. He thanked Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic through a social media post on Sunday. President Aleksandar Vucic had congratulated PM Modi on becoming India’s longest serving elected Prime Minister.
Alexander Vucic wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “Hearty congratulations to Narendra Modi, who has been the longest elected Prime Minister in the history of India.”
Praising Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, he said, “His holding on to the highest office of the country for so long is a testament to how much faith the people have in their leader. He has dedicated his life to the service of the people and the progress of the country. The real strength of a leader is not measured just by the years he spends in office or the elections he wins, but by the legacy, achievements and visionary thinking that he leaves behind.”
He said, “I find the memory of our recent meeting very special, which was full of mutual understanding and respect. During my conversation with Prime Minister Modi, I felt the wisdom of an experienced politician and the thinking of a leader who understands the challenges of the modern world and at the same time values tradition, identity and national interests.”
President Vucic said that this unique combination of experience, vision and dedication to India makes Prime Minister Modi a leader whose voice is heard and respected across the world.
“I wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi good health, continued success and strength to lead India on the path of progress and prosperity in the years to come,” he said.
In response, Prime Minister Modi said, “President Vucic, thank you for your warm and heartfelt wishes.”
Prime Minister Modi wrote on ‘X’, “I remember your recent visit to India and our fruitful conversations. India greatly values its friendship with Serbia and look forward to working together to further strengthen our relations in the times to come.”
Earlier, on June 10, Prime Minister Modi became India’s longest serving Prime Minister. He completed 12 years as the head of the central government.
Prime Minister Modi left behind the record of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He completed 4,399 days as elected Prime Minister, the longest tenure till date.
