New Delhi, April 5 (IANS). Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha vehemently rejected the allegations made by the Aam Aadmi Party. The party had accused him of not raising issues related to Punjab in Parliament. He said that the allegations of not raising Punjab’s issues in Parliament are completely false and politically motivated.
In a detailed statement issued on Sunday, Raghav Chadha said, “I completely reject these baseless and malicious allegations that I did not raise Punjab’s issues in Parliament. My entire record proves the contrary.” He said all his interventions are recorded in official records and any citizen can view them.
Clarifying on Punjab’s pending funds, Chadha said that he had clearly raised the issue on July 31, 2024. He told that this is available in the records of Sansad TV. He particularly raised the issue of Rural Development Fund (RDF) dues and ‘financial injustice’ being done to the state.
Raghav Chadha also claimed that he has continuously raised many important issues in the Parliament. These include rapidly depleting groundwater levels, problems faced by farmers, questions related to Minimum Support Price (MSP), rising farming costs and the need for crop diversification. Apart from this, they also discussed issues like federal structure, industrial revival, employment generation, lack of infrastructure and border security.
He also mentioned his activism on issues of religious and cultural importance. Raghav Chadha said he has also raised the demand for expansion of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor and better pilgrimage facilities up to Nankana Sahib. According to him, these are serious and recorded interventions and not just cosmetic efforts.
He said, “My role as an MP is not to make noise or show displeasure. I have come to Parliament to make an impact, not to create ruckus.” Raghav Chadha termed it as a ‘planned propaganda campaign’ against him. “No attempt to defame me can suppress my voice. Truth and facts will prevail in the end,” he said.
This entire matter reflects the growing tension within the Aam Aadmi Party, where Raghav Chadha is continuously reiterating his commitment towards Punjab while giving clarification about his actions.
