Begusarai, 12 September (IANS). Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh strongly criticized opposition leaders during an event in Begusarai, Bihar on Friday. During this, he said that if a fatwa is issued from mosques during elections, then temples will also be filled.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh arrived to inaugurate a factory located in Baikunthpur in Begusarai. During this, he claimed that NDA under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar is committed to the development of Bihar. He accused the opposition of performing politics of polarization and said in a warning tone, “If a fatwa is issued from mosques, the temples will also be shocked. The Hindu society will not sit silent.”
Giriraj targeted the opposition, saying, “Leaders like Rahul and Tejashwi are misleading Bihar. The grand alliance’s padyatra is like a thief against theft.”
In the program, Giriraj Singh spoke about the plan to make Bihar a textile hub. He said that the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Begusarai will open soon, which will provide employment to local youth. The inauguration of the factory will provide direct employment to more than 5,000 people, which will strengthen the economy of Bihar.

Apart from this, Giriraj Singh praised the growing handloom market in India. He posted on the social media platform X and said, “Handloom is not just a thread, India’s identity. In 2004-14, where marketing aid was only Rs 157 crore, it has increased to Rs 340 crore since 2014. With this increased assistance, weavers have reached new market links, exhibitions and global opportunities.”
He wrote, “Today Indian handloom products are making their mark not only in the country but around the world. Now we are diverting in new markets and recent GST reforms have made the handloom more competitive. The government’s priority is clear that the income of weavers should increase, connecting them to the global market and connecting them with this legacy.”
