Lucknow, May 21 (IANS). Expressing displeasure over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s use of the word ‘traitor’ for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP leaders said that not PM Modi or Home Minister Amit Shah, but Rahul Gandhi is a traitor.
Uttar Pradesh government minister Anil Rajbhar hit back at Rahul Gandhi’s statement and said that the Congress party will understand better if it looks at its own history. He said that what happened to the country during the Congress era is not hidden from anyone. He mentioned many allegations linking the time from former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi and said that serious questions have been raised on Congress earlier also. He says that Rahul Gandhi’s language and rhetoric are increasing only because he is not succeeding in defeating BJP and Prime Minister Modi in the elections.
Anil Rajbhar also said that the recent election results of many states have been in favor of BJP and the party has performed strongly in states like West Bengal also. According to him, this is why disappointment and frustration are visible among the opposition parties. Describing Rahul Gandhi’s statement as an emotional reaction, he said that the public is not influenced by this kind of politics.
Minister of State of Uttar Pradesh Government Vijay Lakshmi Gautam also reacted on the same issue. He said that Prime Minister Modi has taken forward the development works in the country with the resolve of ‘Na khaunga, na khane doonga’. The Prime Minister is continuously working towards ‘Developed India’. He accused Rahul Gandhi of forgetting democratic norms and the dignity of language. Such comments against the top leadership of the country are not appropriate and every citizen should respect India’s culture and democratic values.
At the same time, National Convenor of Youth Chetna, Rohit Kumar Singh also objected to Rahul Gandhi’s statement. He said that if the word traitor is talked about then questions can also be raised on Rahul Gandhi. Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Rae Bareli, he said that he was not seen fully active even at the places related to his family. According to him, the people of the country are watching everything and they will decide who is responsible towards the country and who is not.
