New Delhi, January 2 (IANS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has targeted Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi after the Karnataka government’s survey regarding EVMs. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala said that Rahul Gandhi has become ‘not the leader of opposition, but the leader of propaganda’.
In the recent survey of Karnataka government, about 83 percent citizens have expressed confidence in EVMs. After this, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala said, “Rahul Gandhi has become a laughing stock on these issues (EVMs and vote theft). He also speaks abroad against constitutional institutions like the Election Commission. When he loses elections, he blames EVMs. His own government has proved the truth of his claims.”
Speaking to news agency IANS, Poonawalla said, “In the survey published by the Karnataka government, about 83 percent people have agreed that the EVMs are working properly and the Election Commission is independent and impartial.” He asked how long will the blame for his defeat be placed on someone else.
The BJP spokesperson sarcastically said that the dust was on the face and the Congress just kept cleaning the mirror. He said, “Omar Abdullah and Supriya Sule have fact-checked him (Rahul Gandhi). After losing 95 elections, the public also responded to Rahul Gandhi. From Haryana to Maharashtra, Congress colleagues themselves said that they lost not because of ‘vote theft’ but because of ‘ticket theft’. Now the Karnataka government has defused Rahul Gandhi’s hydrogen bomb with its survey.”
Meanwhile, Shehzad Poonawala strongly condemned the oppression of Hindus in Bangladesh. He said, “The Indian government brought the CAA law to provide shelter to the citizens of other countries who are being tortured. Those who opposed the CAA and run with bags to Gaza, turn a blind eye to the incidents in Bangladesh. Those who tried to save Islamic Jihadis should apologize today.”
