New Delhi, March 18 (IANS). Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi hit back at BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s statement. He said that I have worked with Rahul Gandhi for 10 years. They respect women a lot.
Speaking to IANS in New Delhi, Priyanka Chaturvedi said that a few days ago, when women MPs had protested, it was said that the Prime Minister felt uncomfortable. Now a different statement is being made about Rahul Gandhi. I worked with Rahul Gandhi for 10 years, before our political paths parted. During that time, I observed that he has always shown respect towards women and talked about increasing women’s participation. So many women from his family have themselves come forward. Be it Indira Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, I believe that such political statements are not appropriate. You can talk on topics. It is unfortunate to attack someone personally.
Congress MP Prabha Mallikarjuna said that apart from targeting Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, I think he should start talking on some concrete issue related to the country. Real issues like, the trade agreement with the US, the ongoing war in West Asia, and how we will solve the LPG shortage issues. I think we need to discuss these topics.
Congress MP Jotimani said that this shows the character of Kangana Ranaut, just because someone is well dressed or is a celebrity, it does not mean that he is a good person. Considering the level of politics she does, she actually has no right to talk about Rahul Gandhi.
