Rahul Gandhi's attack on the Election Commission, asked- 'Dnyanesh ji, when will you give evidence to CID?'

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday claimed that the Election Commission has banned the theft only after he raised the case. At the same time, he asked Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar when he would give evidence to Karnataka CID on the matter of deleting votes in Aland.

In fact, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was citing media reports that the Election Commission has launched a new ‘e-sign’ feature, which would require Aadhaar-based verification to add or remove votes.

Rahul Gandhi wrote in a post on X, “Dnyanesh ji, we caught theft and then you remembered to lock – now we will catch the thieves too. Tell us, when will you give evidence to CID?”

Significantly, Rahul had claimed that several attempts were made to cancel several votes in Karnataka’s Aland assembly constituency, after which the CID lodged an FIR and is now investigating the vote theft. He also said in the press conference that several attempts were allegedly tried to remove several votes through a software, but the CID detected it and stopped the voting.

Rahul Gandhi had urged the Chief Election Commissioner to provide details of the people behind the “voting fraud” so that the CID could find out the people behind it. However, Election Commission officials said that the verification system is not a reaction to the Aland assembly constituency dispute, as Gandhi had reported.
