Jaipur, July 20 (IANS). Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar has announced that applications will be invited from July 31 to recognize new private schools in the state. The recognition process will be made more transparent, time bound and simple and the prescribed timelines will be strictly followed at every level.

While presiding over the review meeting of the recognition process and pending applications of private schools in the Education Complex on Monday, the Minister directed the officials to ensure complete compliance with all the rules of the government. He warned that strict action would be taken against schools violating the rules.

Reviewing the recognition process, Dilawar directed that the first level inspection committee should complete the inspection within seven days and submit its report.

After this, the District Education Officer (DEO) will examine the report and send it forward within 15 days, after which the Director of Education will take the final decision on granting recognition.

He said that inspections should be conducted with complete transparency and the entire process from formation of the committee to submission of report should be completed within the stipulated time. Action will be taken against officials causing unnecessary delay. Every deficiency found during inspection should be clearly recorded and applications should be accepted only in the prescribed format.

The Education Minister said that the safety of students is the biggest priority of the government. For this, the safety standards will be further strengthened by making necessary amendments in the accreditation process, and the rules will also be simplified.

The inspection teams have been instructed to thoroughly inspect the seating arrangements of students, school building and classrooms, prayer places, campus mobility facilities and other essential infrastructure and security arrangements.

Dilawar also directed schools to ensure that students are not dropped off outside the school premises but safely inside the school.

He reiterated that private schools will have to completely follow all the prescribed rules and standards. Disciplinary action will be taken against schools violating the rules and if necessary, their recognition can also be cancelled.

The minister also directed officials to take strict action against schools enrolling dummy students, institutions sending students for coaching during school hours, schools running without recognition and institutions violating mandatory rules of education.

Dilawar also said that transfer certificates (TC) or other important academic documents of students should not be withheld due to outstanding fees. In such cases, action will be taken under the rules against schools harassing students or parents.
