Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Tuesday that his government has allowed cultural programs like Ramlila and Durga Puja to continue till midnight. He said that “Ram-Rajya should come in Delhi” and for this “we should all work a little.”

Gupta said, “I always used to say that there are problems in our Hindu festivals. Which Ramlila ends at 10 o’clock in the night? Durga Puja cannot end at 10 pm. When Dandiya can run all night in Gujarat and there can be programs overnight, what is the fault of the people of Delhi?”

He said, “That is why this time we have allowed till 12 pm. Now all Ramlila, Durga Puja and other cultural programs will be done by midnight.”

On Monday, the Delhi government extended the time permission to use loudspeakers and public address systems during Ramlila, Durga Puja, Dussehra and related events. This exemption implemented from 22 September to 3 October was given by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena approved.
