Ranchi, April 14 (IANS). Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Majhi strongly attacked BJP over Nitish Kumar’s resignation from the post of Chief Minister of Bihar. He has appealed to the regional parties that there is a need to be cautious of the BJP.
Speaking to IANS in Ranchi, MP Mahua Majhi said that the same behavior of BJP is being seen from the beginning. Any regional party that trusted the BJP and formed an alliance with it was almost wiped out of existence.
Referring to Odisha, Mahua Majhi said that you saw BJD in Odisha. BJD supported BJP, but BJP betrayed them. Made many of his MPs resign and join his party. Nitish Kumar had got the mandate in Bihar, but efforts are being made to deactivate him by sending him to Rajya Sabha. BJP will make its own Chief Minister. This is a direct insult to the public mandate.
On the Women’s Reservation Bill, Mahua Majhi said that our support was there from the beginning. Even before this bill came, we had repeatedly demanded women’s reservation. Nari Shakti Vandan Act was brought by calling a special session during the inauguration of the new Parliament House before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. At that time, there was a wave of happiness among all the women that they would get reserved seats in the upcoming elections, but it did not happen. Later it was said that this reservation will be implemented in 2029.
On the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Mahua Majhi said that Baba Saheb was the first to talk about justice towards women in the society. Today, perhaps it is the result of their efforts that women have progressed so much. We are going to Delhi tomorrow, where issues related to the Women’s Reservation Bill will be discussed.
After the resignation of Nitish Kumar, Samrat Chaudhary was elected the leader of the BJP legislature party. Samrat Chaudhary will now be the next Chief Minister of Bihar. Now the double engine government of Bihar will run under his guidance.
