Patna, January 26 (IANS). Republic Day is being celebrated with great pomp in Bihar on Monday. On this occasion, the main function was organized at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Here state Governor Arif Mohammad Khan hoisted the tricolor.
After hoisting the flag, the Governor addressed the people. Governor and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have congratulated and greeted the people of the state and the country on the occasion of Republic Day. State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha and many members of the State Council of Ministers and senior officials of the state were present in the main function of Republic Day.
After hoisting the flag, a grand parade of contingents of police, home guards and other forces was taken out and demonstrated their discipline and dedication. Earlier, while wishing the people on Republic Day, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the brave sons of the freedom struggle and said that their sacrifices can never be forgotten. This day is also an opportunity to remember all the brave sons who sacrificed everything to protect the pride, unity and integrity of the Indian Republic.
The Chief Minister said that this is an opportunity to celebrate our democracy and cherish the ideas and values enshrined in our Constitution. Our Republic is a symbol of democratic values and unwavering devotion to the Indian Constitution and the spirit of unity in our diversity.
He said that we all should take a pledge to keep our freedom, unity and integrity intact. It is the responsibility of all of us to maintain mutual brotherhood, peace and harmony in the state. On the occasion of Republic Day, tight security arrangements have been made in the border areas and sensitive areas of the state. Apart from this, there are reports of Republic Day being celebrated all over Bihar.
