Sanatan Darshan is the integral human philosophy: Mohan Bhagwat

सनातन दर्शन ही एकात्म मानव दर्शन है: मोहन भागवत

Jaipur, November 15 (IANS). Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat said on Saturday that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay expressed Sanatan Darshan for the modern world by presenting it as an integral human philosophy as per the needs of the country, time and circumstances.

RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat said that although this philosophy was formally propounded 60 years ago, it still has relevance across the world. Mohan Bhagwat was delivering the Deendayal Memorial Lecture organized by the Integral Manav Darshan Research and Development Foundation in Jaipur.

He told that the essence of integral human philosophy can be understood in one word and religion. Clarifying that religion does not mean sect or creed, he said it symbolizes a goal and a universal outlook that encompasses all.

He said that at present the world should adopt this religion of unified human philosophy. He said that historically Indians have never exploited or harmed others while traveling abroad, but have made positive contributions wherever they have gone.

He said that the lifestyle, food habits and clothing in India have changed with time, yet the eternal philosophy of integral humanism remains intact. He said that its basis is the belief that happiness lies within oneself.

He stressed that recognizing this inner joy leads to the understanding that the entire world is one. Integral humanism is a philosophy free from extremism.

Bhagwat, speaking about physical, mental and intellectual power, said that all types of powers have limits.

He further said that the need of the hour is to pursue personal development while remaining committed to the welfare of all. Citing frequent global economic turmoil, he said India is relatively less affected because its economic strength lies in its family structure.

Commenting on the rapid scientific progress, Bhagwat said that material comforts have increased, but peace and satisfaction have not.

He questioned whether health had truly improved despite new medicines, and pointed out that some diseases were caused by certain treatments.

He further said that only 4 percent of the global population uses 80 percent of the world’s resources, thereby widening the gap between developed and developing countries.

He said India has always had diversity, but it has never been a source of conflict, but rather a source of celebration.

He said that Indian society has given place to innumerable deities and keeps welcoming more deities without any difficulty. The world believes in the existence of happiness of body, mind and intellect, but it does not know how to achieve all three together.

Bhagwat further said that India understands this uniquely because it believes in holistic happiness of body, mind, intellect and soul.

Before this, Mahesh Sharma, President of Integral Manav Darshan Research and Development Foundation, introduced the program. He said that the entire universe is interconnected and the movement of even a single particle affects the entire universe. He also said that this year marks the 150th anniversary of the composition of Vande Mataram and stressed the importance of singing the entire song in the current circumstances.
