New Delhi, July 15 (IANS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahnawaz Hussain has taken a dig at the alleged internal differences going on in Punjab Congress. He claimed that the party in Punjab is divided into several factions and the state leaders are challenging the decisions of the central leadership.
BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain, while talking to news agency IANS, said, “Congress in Punjab is divided into many factions. The leaders there are no longer accepting the party in-charge and there is also a rebellion against Bhupesh Baghel. Congress leaders in Punjab have decided not to accept the decision of the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. There is rebellion against the decision too.”
Shahnawaz Hussain said, “They are not fighting among themselves, but the central leadership is also being challenged. One thing has become clear from this, wherever there is Congress, its leaders are divided among themselves. Only the leaders who are divided within the states are called Congressmen.”
He said, “When there are internal differences in any party, people say that these people are behaving like the Congress. The people of the Congress are divided into pieces.”
Meanwhile, on Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’s demand to send a team from the Center to take stock of the drought situation in the state, Shahnawaz Hussain said, “The Karnataka government is not paying attention to the concerns of the people. It is entangled in its internal matters. If there is any difficulty in Karnataka, the Central Government has always given full cooperation and will continue to give it in future also.”
He also reacted to the Supreme Court’s decision on the Bhojshala case. Shahnawaz Hussain said, “The Supreme Court’s decision has come and the government will take cognizance of it.” Let us tell you that the Supreme Court has not given permission for Namaz in the Bhojshala premises, but has instructed the Madhya Pradesh government to make arrangements for Namaz nearby.
