Mumbai, April 4 (IANS). Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde on Saturday strongly defended the Maharashtra government’s flagship welfare scheme ‘Ladki Behna Yojana’. He termed the opposition’s allegations as completely baseless.
Speaking to IANS, Hegde said, “Ladki Brahmin Yojana is a major program of our government. The last date for KYC registration has been fixed as April 30. There is no substance in the allegations of the opposition. The government has allocated a budget of about Rs 26,000 crore for this scheme. Under this scheme, which is running from August 2024, every beneficiary woman is being given Rs 1,500 per month.”
Shiv Sena spokesperson also presented the government’s side regarding fuel supply amid increasing tension in the Middle East. He said, “A Japanese ship has left for India with fuel. Also, an Indian ship is coming out of the Strait of Hormuz to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had talked to the President of Iran, due to whose efforts two ships had already left Hormuz. There is going to be no shortage of fuel and gas in India. Full credit for this goes to Prime Minister Modi and his government.”
Shiv Sena also launched a scathing attack on the recent statement of Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary. Hegde said, “The statement given by Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary on TMC’s strategy of gathering Muslim votes is very wrong. He said that where there is a chance of winning, Muslims will vote for TMC and where there is a chance for Congress, then for Congress. This statement is going to break the state. People vote on the basis of work, not on the basis of religion.”
Krishna Hegde also responded to the suggestion of Samajwadi Party youth MP Iqra Chaudhary. He said that the suggestion of dedicating one day of the Lok Sabha on child development is good, but the proceedings of the Lok Sabha are managed by the Secretariat as per the agenda and schedule. He said that Iqra Chaudhary’s father had also been a former MP, hence he should be aware of the parliamentary procedure.
