Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday expressed surprise at the remarks of a BJP leader Rahul Gandhi on the “chest shot” and wanted to know if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah support the view.
Siddaramaiah said in a post on ‘X’, “The shocking thing is that a BJP spokesperson has openly threatened to kill him, saying,” We will shoot Rahul Gandhi in the chest, beware .. !! “, This threat has been given to the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, who has been continuously raising voice against the BJP and the Sangh Parivar. This threat has shocked the whole country. ”
Siddaramaiah said, “The silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on such a statement naturally has forced everyone to think whether they also support this idea.”
The Chief Minister alleged that threatening the ideological opponents to suppress their voice and when this threat failed, it is not new to the BJP and the Sangh Parivar to completely abolish them. He said that those who were standing behind the scenes supporting the killings of their critics earlier have now come down openly.
Siddaramaiah alleged, “Are there only one or two people victims of extremists of the Sangh Parivar?” Starting from Mahatma Gandhi, this list of killings of Govind Pansare, Narendra Dabholkar, MM Kalburgi, Gauri Lankesh and many others is increasing.
Siddaramaiah claimed, “Even in the past, not only me, but many writers, thinkers and activists of the country have also received threats to kill them as letters. The police is investigating these incidents. ”
