Lucknow, May 8 (IANS). Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Dimple Yadav on Friday demanded that live footage of vote counting centers should be shared by the Election Commission during the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
His reaction comes after Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee made allegations of irregularities in vote counting in the recently concluded West Bengal Assembly elections.
The SP MP said that that is why the Samajwadi Party has demanded that when elections are held in Uttar Pradesh, live footage of the counting center should be shared.
He further said that from a technical point of view, showing ‘live’ footage is nothing new. BJP describes itself as technologically advanced.
Regarding SP President Akhilesh Yadav’s meeting with former West Bengal Chief Minister Banerjee, Dimple Yadav said that Samajwadi Party has always had good relations with Trinamool Congress.
Reiterating the opposition’s allegation of being biased against the Election Commission, he said that we have no hope left from the Election Commission. This is completely working in favor of BJP because BJP has its patronage.
Referring to the deployment of CRPF during the West Bengal Assembly elections, Dimple Yadav said that we have seen that even in Uttar Pradesh, there is fear of security forces during the elections and an atmosphere of fear is created. Party workers are threatened. Booth agents are not allowed access to their booths.
He alleged that what the BJP has done in West Bengal is similar to the methods adopted by the party to come to power in Uttar Pradesh.
Regarding Samajwadi Party’s plans for 2027 Uttar Pradesh elections, Dimple Yadav said that we have said that we will work together with backward, Dalit, and minority communities.
He alleged that the condition of women in Uttar Pradesh is pathetic.
