New Delhi, April 13 (IANS). A three-day special session of Parliament will begin from April 16, in which the central government will present the Women’s Reservation Bill. Regarding this special session, Janata Dal United (JDU) has issued a three-line whip for all its MPs in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
JDU has instructed all the MPs to be present in the Parliament during the special session of the Parliament to be held from 16 to 18 April. All members have also been instructed to support the government’s stand.
The party wrote, “All the Lok Sabha members of Janata Dal United are informed that on 16, 17 and 18 April, some very important legislative business will be brought in the Lok Sabha for discussion and passing. Therefore, all the Lok Sabha members are requested to support the government’s stand by compulsorily being present in the House for the entire time on 16, 17 and 18 April.”
It is noteworthy that JDU, which is part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), currently has 12 MPs in the Lok Sabha and four in the Rajya Sabha.
Earlier, on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had issued a three-line whip to all its MPs, making their presence mandatory from April 16 to 18. In this, Union Ministers and all members have been specifically directed to be present in the House during these three days.
The whip from the BJP said, “A three-line whip is being issued to all BJP members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from Thursday to Saturday (16 to 18 April 2026). All Union Ministers and Members are requested to be present in the House on the above three dates. Presence in the House is mandatory. No leave will be sanctioned. Members are requested to strictly follow the whip and ensure their uninterrupted presence in the House.”
