Dehradun, May 19 (IANS). Political rhetoric is intensifying regarding Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s strict instructions not to offer Namaz on the road. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board Chairman Mufti Shamoon Qasmi has supported CM Yogi’s statement.
Speaking to IANS, Mufti Shamoon Qasmi, Chairman of Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board, said, “What CM Yogi has said is absolutely right. CM Yogi is a saint; a saint not only knows his own religion but also studies other religions. In such a situation, I fully support CM Yogi’s statement that Namaz should not be offered on the road.”
Qasmi said, “Namaz should not be offered in a public place or on government property, because this is the place from where the general public comes out. Ambulances can come out from these places, which may contain patients and due to delay, they may die. CM Yogi has given another good advice that if there is less space in the mosque and there are more namazis, then namaz can be offered in shifts. The experts of Islam should pay attention to this. Public places and on the road. There should not be namaz.”
He further said, “But to say that if Rath Yatra is taking place somewhere and activities of other religions are going on, then on the lines of that we will also offer Namaz on the streets, this is not at all appropriate. If the so-called people who lead Muslims read Islam properly, they will also thank CM Yogi.”
Giving the example of Uttarakhand, he said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, there is no namaz on the roads anywhere in Uttarakhand. We have also made an effort to tell this to the people. Here we take the reference of CM Dhami as to how he tried to increase the minorities. Many authorities were formed to provide education to the minorities, in which Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Persians and Jains have presented a path for all so that their children can grow in future.
