Murshidabad, July 4 (IANS). On receiving the summons from West Bengal Police, Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) Chairman and MLA Humayun Kabir said that he will go to Rezinagar police station and follow the law completely. He has also appealed to his party workers to stay away from any kind of provocation or reaction and maintain peace.
While talking to IANS, Humayun Kabir said that such situations keep coming from time to time in politics. Referring to his political experience, he said that he has been active in politics for a long time and many cases were registered against him earlier, but the courts gave him a clean chit because no concrete evidence was found against him.
He said that the law will take its course and he fully respects the process of law. According to him, if any kind of investigation or action is taken, he will fully cooperate in it. He also said that if he is detained, he will face the same and there is no question of running away from the law.
Humayun Kabir clarified in his statement that he does not want to comment much on this matter, because it is completely a matter related to the legal process. Appealing to his supporters and party workers, he said that everyone should remain calm and not react to any kind of rumor or instigation.
In response to a question on the ‘zero tolerance’ policy of the state government, Humayun Kabir said that administrative action is taken at some places in the state, while in some cases political influence is also seen. He said that instead of taking action against the TMC MLAs who commit hooliganism in Murshidabad, the government helps them.
Humayun Kabir also said that the government is considering his party as weak. 80 TMC MLAs had won the elections, but because of BJP there was a split in it and now the government is giving direct shelter to the rebel MLAs. He said that people who were his enemies earlier have come close to him today, but the voter is watching everything and will give his answer when the time comes.
