Srinagar, April 26 (IANS). ‘Sunday on Cycle’ program with the message ‘Fit India’ was organized in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse and Jammu and Kashmir Sports Minister Satish Sharma participated in it.
‘Sunday on Cycle’ program was organized on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar. Mansukh Mandaviya went cycling with others.
Speaking to the media, Mansukh Mandaviya said, “A ‘Chintan Shivir’ was organized on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The people of Kashmir warmly welcomed and felicitated the ministers of various states included in the delegation. The event is being organized in a joyful atmosphere.”
He further said, “On the occasion of the third day, ‘Sunday on Cycle’ program was organized at Dal Lake on Sunday, through which the message of fitness was given.
The Union Minister said that if any country has to become a prosperous nation then it is important for the citizens of the country to remain healthy. If citizens remain fit, society will remain healthy. Only a healthy society can create a ‘developed India’. To achieve this objective, ‘Sunday on Cycle’ is being organized every Sunday at more than 16 thousand places in the country.
Mansukh Mandaviya has reached Jammu and Kashmir on a three-day visit. Earlier, on Saturday he participated in a contemplation camp in Srinagar. The event focused on strengthening India’s sports ecosystem through coordinated action, systemic reforms, policy convergence and grassroots implementation.
Manoj Sinha, Honorable Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir was also present at the contemplation camp, and appreciated the vision of making India a sports superpower.
