The swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Bihar is likely to be held on November 20 in Patna, which is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with several top leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Union ministers. Official sources gave this information on Monday. According to sources, preparations are going on at Gandhi Maidan in Patna for the swearing-in ceremony.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Bihar unit president Dilip Jaiswal said that the newly elected MLAs will meet on Tuesday to elect the leader of their legislative party. He said, “It is likely that the swearing-in ceremony of the new government will take place on November 20 or 21.”
Meanwhile, the last cabinet meeting of the outgoing NDA government in Bihar authorized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to recommend dissolution of the assembly.
“The cabinet passed a resolution recommending dissolution of the assembly on November 19. After the meeting, the chief minister met Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and informed him about the cabinet’s decision,” a minister said.
In the recently concluded assembly elections, NDA has won more than 200 seats in the 243-member House, out of which BJP won the maximum 89 seats and Janata Dal (United) got 85 seats.
