New Delhi, May 5 (IANS). Sadanand Chaudhary, founder of political think tank ‘LeaderTank’, on Tuesday described the results of the recently held assembly elections as ‘the power of democracy’ and said that these results are proof of power being in the hands of the people.
Responding to the election scenario, Chaudhary compared the developments in different states.
He said that the arrival of a new leader in Tamil Nadu shows the strength of Indian democracy.
He further said that political change was expected after several tenures in Bengal. Clearly, Mamata Banerjee should go as there was no point in her continuing. She has already served three terms; She has shown the public what she can do. Now some other party should get a chance to show its potential to the development of Bengal and the people.
Referring to other states, he presented the behavior of voters in Kerala as an example of democratic choice.
He said that if you look at the results of Kerala, it again shows why Kerala is so developed and high in literacy rates. Although everyone considers Kerala government as a good model of development due to its high literacy rate and development. Nevertheless, people changed the government so that someone else could get the opportunity to show their potential. This is how democracy should ideally work.
Chaudhary further said that I do not say that the government should be changed every time, sometimes it is necessary to appreciate those who do good work. But if you feel that they are not promising anything new, then change that government and give a chance to some other person so that they can show their potential.
Turning to Assam, he said that except these three states, the rest of the elections were normal. Obviously, BJP has made big gains in Assam, but it has no message.
