तमिलनाडु चुनाव: पलानीस्वामी आज से एआईएडीएमके के चुनाव अभियान की करेंगे शुरुआत

Chennai, March 25 (IANS). Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on April 23, due to which political activities have intensified across the state. Both DMK and AIADMK are busy in seat sharing within their respective alliances.

AIADMK general secretary and former Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami is set to begin a statewide election campaign tour from Wednesday, signaling the party’s efforts to return to power.

According to an official statement issued by the AIADMK headquarters, Palaniswami will campaign from March 25 to April 1, in which he will garner support for the candidates of his party and its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies. The campaign aims to consolidate voter support in key constituencies and energize party workers ahead of the crucial electoral contest.

The campaign will begin from Chennai where Palaniswami will address a public meeting in Mylapore on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.

Party sources said starting the election campaign from Chennai highlights the strategic importance of the urban constituencies, where both the ruling DMK and the opposition AIADMK are likely to face tough competition.

Palaniswami will continue his election campaign at several places in and around Chennai in the coming days.

On March 27, he will address a gathering in Alandur at 4 pm, followed by another gathering in Tambaram at 6 pm. The election campaign will then move to North Chennai on March 28, where he will campaign in RK Nagar at 4 pm and Tiruvottiyur at 6 pm.

Party leaders said that this election tour has been designed to reach out to as many people as possible in densely populated urban areas. It will also play an important role in creating an environment for a massive statewide campaign in the coming weeks.

Tamil Nadu is getting ready for an important election contest. Palaniswami’s high-profile election campaign is likely to further intensify the political battle between the AIADMK-led NDA and the DMK-led alliance ahead of polling day.
