Hyderabad, December 29 (IANS). Chief Minister A., who has been making sharp attacks on each other for a long time in the Telangana Assembly on Monday. Revanth Reddy and Leader of Opposition. A moment of harmony was seen between Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR).
Before the proceedings began on the first day of the winter session, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy himself walked up to KCR, shook his hand and inquired about his well-being.
This scene has come to light at a time when the war of words between the two leaders has been intense in recent times over irrigation projects and river water sharing. This presence of KCR in the Assembly is also considered special because he was seen in the House after a long time.
The interesting thing was that KCR had reached the House before other members and sat on his seat.
As soon as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy entered the Assembly hall, he went straight to KCR and shook hands with him. After this, many ministers and MLAs also met KCR and greeted him. These included Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Seethakka, Vakiti Srihari, Adaluri Laxman Kumar and other leaders. Newly elected Congress MLA Naveen Yadav was also involved in this.
However, the warmth seen in the House was in complete contrast to the political tension going on outside. The main opposition party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has been continuously accusing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of using objectionable language against KCR. BRS says that the Chief Minister not only made derogatory comments but even wished for the death of KCR.
In fact, while announcing a major agitation on December 21 regarding the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project, KCR had said that the Congress government has betrayed the people and for this he will ‘reveal the skin’ of the government.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had given a sharp reaction to this statement. He had said that he would not allow KCR or his family to return to power again.
Revanth Reddy had given an even stronger statement while addressing a public meeting in Narayanpet district on 24 December. He had said, “KCR, while in power, filed cases against me, sent me to jail and harassed me. God punished him. The day I took oath as Chief Minister, he fell and got injured. I don’t need to put him in jail, he has confined himself to his farmhouse, where my police are all around.”
After these statements, KCR’s son and BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) advised the Chief Minister to exercise restraint. He said that restraint should not be considered weakness.
KTR said, “It is not easy to remain silent as a son and a party worker. Every day baseless allegations are being made against KCR. Sometimes comments on his injury, sometimes questions on his health. Out of respect for democracy and constitutional post, I am exercising restraint.”
