New Delhi, November 5 (IANS). Just a day before the first phase of voting for Bihar assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi has raised the issue of ‘vote theft’. This time he has made allegations of irregularities in Haryana elections. Countering these allegations of Rahul Gandhi, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that there is nothing left in Bihar, the issue of Haryana is being fabricated to divert attention.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, BJP leader and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said in the press conference, “During the last Parliament session, Rahul Gandhi roamed around the Parliament complex with a woman’s picture printed on a T-shirt and raised her name. By the evening, the woman herself reprimanded Rahul Gandhi. And now, to hide his failures, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is again holding a press conference.”
He said, “There is voting in Bihar, but today Rahul Gandhi was telling the story of Haryana. It is clear from this that there is no issue left in Bihar, hence the issue of Haryana is being created to divert attention.”
The Union Minister hit back, saying, “Even during the 2004 elections, exit polls and opinion polls were showing victory for BJP and NDA, but as per the results of counting, NDA lost. We accepted the result and congratulated the UPA, but we did not abuse the Election Commission. In a democracy, one has to accept both victory and defeat. But when the exit polls are in favor of Congress, then they applaud and when they go against it, Yes, then they abuse the media.”
During this, Kiren Rijiju mentioned the remarks of senior Congress leader Kumari Shailaja. He said, “When elections were going on in Haryana, senior Congress leader Kumari Shailja herself had said that Congress would not be able to win there because its own leaders wanted to defeat the party. After this, a former Congress minister resigned and clearly said that Congress lost in Haryana because its own leaders were not working on the ground.”
Giving another example, he said, “Congress state president Rao Narendra Singh admitted that there is no coordination at the grassroots level in the party.” Kiren Rijiju raised the question that then how can Congress win? He said, “Their own leaders are saying that Congress lost because of its own reasons, whereas who will believe Rahul Gandhi’s statement that they lost because of vote theft?”
Kiren Rijiju alleged that Rahul Gandhi is conspiring against the country. He said, “Rahul Gandhi sometimes talks about provoking ‘Gen-Ji’. Sometimes he plays the game of defaming the country. He is in collusion with anti-national forces and is conspiring with them.”
