Siliguri, October 8 (IANS). Union Minister Kiren Rijiju reached the hospital on Wednesday to meet Malda North MP Khagen Murmu. He inquired about the well being of MP Murmu and wished for his speedy recovery. During this period, MP Raju Bisht also stayed with Union Minister Rijiju.

Giving information, West Bengal BJP MP Raju Bisht said that along with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, he met Malda North MP Khagen Murmu in the hospital and inquired about his health condition.

The doctors treating MP Murmu have told us that he has suffered a head fracture, but he is out of danger. Despite being seriously injured, MP Khagen’s health is good. It is extremely unfortunate that despite being captured live on camera, the TMC leaders who carried out the attack have not yet been arrested by the West Bengal Police.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju posted the photo of the meeting on social media platform X and wrote, “Met BJP MP Khagen Murmu in Siliguri hospital. The brutal attack on Murmu, a respected tribal leader and two-time MP from North Malda, is completely unacceptable. TMC has turned West Bengal, which was once a peaceful state, into a jungle raj. Such actions cannot be tolerated.

Earlier, Union Minister of State Sukant Majumdar met hospitalized BJP MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Shankar Ghosh. Khagen Murmu was attacked by some local people when he went to visit flood-affected areas in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal on October 6. He suffered serious head injuries during the attack.
