New Delhi, June 3 (IANS). Amidst the ongoing turmoil in West Bengal politics, a social media post by BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari has sparked a new political debate. Amidst the news of increasing internal strife in TMC and rebellion within the party, Pradeep Bhandari has taken a jibe by sharing a picture on the social media platform ‘X’.
The picture shared by Pradeep Bhandari shows pictures of Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, Sayoni Ghosh, senior advocate and Rajya Sabha member Maneka Guruswamy and journalist and Rajya Sabha member Sagarika Ghosh. ‘Missing’ is written in capital letters above the picture, while the title mentions ‘Missing Ladies’.
With this ‘X’ post, Pradeep Bhandari wrote in the caption, “Now you see me, now you don’t.” Its Hindi meaning is that it was visible now, but is not visible now. His post is being linked to the current political situation in West Bengal.
In fact, this target has been taken by BJP at a time when TMC faced electoral setback in West Bengal and dissatisfaction within the party started coming to the fore. Sayoni Ghosh was active as a star campaigner of TMC in the assembly elections and was continuously making claims about the return of the party. At the same time, Mahua Moitra also played an important role in the election campaign.
Apart from this, Maneka Guruswamy had advocated in the Supreme Court in many important cases related to TMC and West Bengal government, while Sagarika Ghosh was also actively involved in the election campaign.
However, no official reaction has come from TMC on Pradeep Bhandari’s X post.
Meanwhile, the crisis seems to be deepening for TMC. Kolkata Mayor and senior party leader Firhad Hakim has resigned from his post. At the same time, rebellion within the party has also come to the fore.
According to the latest information, a group of 58 out of 80 TMC MLAs have formally supported Ritabrata Banerjee as the new leader of the assembly party.
