New Delhi, January 18 (IANS). US President Donald Trump has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be part of the peace board for Gaza. A letter has been written to PM Modi on behalf of the White House and this letter has been shared by the US Ambassador to India on the social media platform X.
It is written in the letter sent to the Prime Minister that it is a great honor for me, as the Prime Minister of India, to extend a warm invitation to you to join me in a new and bold initiative to establish peace in the Middle East as well as resolve global conflicts.
The letter quoted the US President as saying that on September 29, 2025, I had announced a comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict. It is a 20-point roadmap, which was immediately accepted by key leaders of many countries including the Arab world, Israel and Europe. Taking this plan forward, on November 17 the UN Security Council overwhelmingly passed Resolution 2803, welcoming and supporting this vision.
It is written in the letter that now the time has come to convert these dreams into reality. Central to this plan is the “Peace Board”, which will be the most influential and important board ever. It will be established as a new international organization and temporary governing system.
In the letter written to the PM, it has been written on behalf of the White House that this effort of ours will bring together those prestigious countries who are ready to take the responsibility of establishing lasting peace. This honor will be given only to those who are willing to lead by example and invest in a secure and prosperous future for future generations. We will soon convene a meeting of our respected and committed partners, most of whom are distinguished world leaders.
Sharing this letter, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore has written that I am proud to say that the US President has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the peace board that will bring lasting peace in Gaza. This board will support effective governance to achieve stability and prosperity.
