Congress on Thursday alleged that unemployment in the country has reached its peak but instead of solving the problem, Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeps inventing new speeches to divert public attention.
Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, citing the report of ‘Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy’ (CMIE), claimed that the unemployment rate has reached the level of 7.5 percent.
Ramesh posted on Students, youth, farmers, laborers, workers, shopkeepers, employees, businessmen – not a single section is happy with this government. Inflation is skyrocketing, the value of rupee is continuously falling and the gap between rich and poor is increasing, due to which the life of poor and middle class families has become difficult. He said that increasing unemployment has become a matter of great concern.
The Congress leader said, “According to the latest report of CMIE, the country’s unemployment rate has increased to 7.5 percent in October 2025, which is the highest level in the last six months.” Lakhs of people have lost jobs in many sectors including construction and IT-banking. “More than 90 lakh people have lost work in the construction industry, while the number of salaried jobs has declined by 25 lakh.”
Ramesh claimed that similar scary figures have emerged every time in the last 11 years, but it seems as if Prime Minister Modi is not concerned with the youth of the country.
He alleged that the Prime Minister, being always in election mode, is busy inventing new speeches to divert public attention instead of solving the problem of unemployment.
